March: Green Month at Westfield Business School – Commitment to Sustainability and Education

At Westfield Business School, we believe that education and sustainability go hand in hand. March is a special month for our community, as it invites us to reflect on the importance of protecting our planet and taking an active commitment to the environment.

Every March 3rd, we celebrate World Wildlife Day (Nature Day) and, with it, the beginning of Green Month, a time to strengthen our actions and raise awareness about sustainability in business and education. This year, on this same day, we also welcome our March 2025 cohort, reaffirming our commitment to making a positive impact: for every new student, we plant a tree in the Amazon in partnership with Saving the Amazon.

Key Dates of Green Month

Throughout March, several environmental dates remind us of our responsibility as individuals and as an institution:

March 3rd – World Wildlife Day (Nature Day)
March 21st – International Day of Forests
March 22nd – World Water Day
March 23rd – World Meteorological Day
March 29th – Earth Hour

These dates encourage us to reflect on the need to conserve ecosystems, manage natural resources responsibly, and contribute to sustainable development from the business sector.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Westfield Business School, sustainability is not just a conversation—it is action. As part of our mission to develop global business leaders, we understand that the future of business must align with our Triple Bottom Line philosophy: People, Planet & Profit.

Through our partnership with Saving the Amazon, we actively contribute to the reforestation of the Amazon and the protection of its biodiversity. Since we launched this initiative in December 2022, we have planted 889 trees, positively impacting 9 indigenous communities involved in these conservation projects.

Furthermore, we integrate sustainability into our educational approach, ensuring that our students understand the value of circular economy, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable business strategies.

In our MBA, every case study is analyzed through the lens of the Triple Bottom Line, allowing students to develop a comprehensive view of the impact of business decisions—not only in terms of financial feasibility but also in their social and environmental impact. This approach is reinforced through individual introspection exercises and group debates, fostering deep reflection on sustainability in various business contexts. In this way, students internalize this perspective, making it a pillar of their personal and professional growth.

Additionally, we offer the Triple Bottom Line Thinking course, which delves into strategies for balancing economic growth with social and environmental responsibility, shaping leaders who integrate sustainability as a fundamental principle in their business decisions.

How Can You Join Green Month?

We invite you to actively contribute to building a more sustainable future with simple yet impactful actions:

Green Month is an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the planet. At Westfield Business School, we believe that education has the power to transform the world, and together, we can continue fostering responsible and sustainable leadership.
